Terms & Conditions
On completing the purchase of a Special Edition copy of Tom Corven, my obligation to you is:
1. You will own a 1/500th share of everything I earn as an author until I repay a sum of $5,000 per share.
2. In placing a 20% deposit on the SE, you have an unarguable right to complete that purchase as long as you are given at least 2 weeks notice to do so and you complete that purchase within the two weeks.
3. Such income will be open to independent audit and available to you with an annual statement of account.
4. I will print your name, sensible alias or short dedication on the top of a single page of every novel (Tom Corven) sold - if you so wish.
5. I will work tirelessly to free myself of my obligation by paying you, in full, as quickly as possible.
6. Point 5, above, will figure prominently in any negotiation with publishers.
7. You will receive a professionally and specially designed copy of a limited edition hardback, signed and numbered by the author. The copy will be imprinted with the retail price of $500.
8. Following a publishing deal, I will use the money collected in this sale to support writing the next novel and promoting all my work.
9. If no satisfactory publishing deal can be struck regarding Tom Corven, you will retain the right to complete the purchase at any point in my career, no matter how long it takes to succeed or how one-sided the deal appears to be in your favour. If, on raising enough funds, I subsequently form a publishing company to publish Tom Corven and 10 Downing St, I must offer you the opportunity of buying a SE under the conditions set above. In this case, you will own a 1/500 share of this company. The company will be wound up when each shareholder has been repaid according to point 1 above.
Conditions:
1. The above obligations relate to individuals supporting Tom Corven.
2. Companies wishing to support this venture should negotiate separate terms.
3. On failing to complete the purchase of the SE after placing a deposit, neither party will hold an obligation to the other. The deposit is non refundable.
4. Individuals will be allocated a page in the novel on a random basis after excluding the first chapter, all chapter headings and the final page.
5. An individual may bid for a premium position but should contact me beforehand.
6. The name, alias or dedication should be short and unobtrusive. The author retains a veto on this content so that its presence does not distract a reader from the story or cause offence.
7. On placing a deposit, you are encouraged to suggest your page header, particularly if you think it may be an issue.
8. This header should be finalised on completion of full payment.
9. The author retains all copyrights.
10. These terms and conditions are supplied in good faith and under UK law.
Beyond everything said above, anyone supporting Tom Corven, and me as its author, is bringing this, and all future novels I write, into the world and for that I am extremely grateful.
